Techno Guards Volunteer at Sacramento FLL Tournament

The Techno Guards spent the day (Saturday, December 6th) at the FIRST Lego League regional qualifying tournament in Sacramento. More pictures and some details on what happened can be found here!

Since all four of the team got their start with FIRST in FLL, they eagerly agreed to help. The team are all alumni of the Lego Guards team, from one or more of their past seasons, and they also wanted to be there to cheer them on!
Everyone got up early. Karl and Chris left Meadow Vista at 6:30!

They volunteered for the day doing various jobs. Gavin and Robin helped on the tournament floor. Robin did Table Reset and Gavin was a rules/robot inspection person. (You can see Robin happy at the Lego Guards' table run above!)
Karl and Chris monitored doors, helped timing of teams, etc.

In between their volunteering jobs, they also got to show off the robot a bit.
The FemBots FRC team brought their robot from last year, and our robot wanted to play Overdrive with them...
At the end of the competition, the team waited patiently to find out how the Lego Guards did - Gavin was in with the judges!
To say they did well was an understatement. The Lego Guards were awarded the 1st Place Champions award and the 1st Place Robot Performance award! (By the way, these are the same two awards that last years State Champion Lego Guards won at this same tournament!)
Of course, we all had to go out and celebrate with the Lego Guards too!
