Techno Guards at Maker Faire 2009

Team Techno Guards and our World award winning FTC robot (Evo 4) demonstrated for the crowds in the Playing @ Learning's FIRST booth at this year's Maker Faire in San Mateo.

Maker Faire is a two-day, family-friendly event to MAKE, create, learn, invent, CRAFT, recycle, think, play and be inspired by celebrating arts, crafts, engineering, food, music, science and technology. Over 65,000 people attend this amazing event, and it is the largest event of its kind in the country!

The Maker Faire was a great experiance for our team. We talked about FIRST and FTC with a lot of people, and got them excited about working with robots. We hope that we can do more events like this in the future to spread FIRST out to our community and beyond!

"The Techno Guards presented their robot at the Makers Fair on Sunday.  The Fair started off slow but by midday, the robot was a hit.  The team drove the robot to every kid who put a puck in the robot.  They had lots of fun competing against two other teams, which was another crowd pleaser.  After a long day, everyone went home tired."
